Established in 2006, Lotus Bar & Eatery specializes in Modern American Comfort Food, drawing inspiration from homegrown Lowcountry Classics & native High Southern techniques. We begin with an incredible variety of locally-sourced products and imported fresh ingredients, searching far and wide for distinct local flavors. Here at the crossroads of the Carolinas, outside of Charlotte, we set our sights upon presenting to you, our welcome guest, a time-honored feast that will evoke a long-lost meal, an eye-opening experience, or lead you to a mouthwatering favorite that you haven't even discovered yet.

With signature cocktails made fresh from scratch, 18 seasonal taps, domestic and imported micro-brews, 30+ wines by the glass, premium sake, and rare, small-batch spirits, we stock a drink lover's library to quench your thirst. Our sushi bar specializes in traditional fare as well as creative signature rolls, serving only the freshest fish: raw, cooked, vegetarian, and everything in between. With Fresh Catch specials brought in daily from the coastal Carolinas, and everything from Prime Steaks, All-Natural Free-Range Chicken, and House-smoked BBQ to Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Shrimp 'N Grits, and Homemade Pasta, we have something for everyone regardless of taste, appetite, or budget.

Our layout includes a Main Dining floor, a fully-stocked Bar with 3 46" TV's, a full-service Sushi Bar, an Upstairs Balcony (seats up to 70), as well as a Private Lounge with its own private bar (seats up to 35 including 55" Flatscreen TV and professional audio/video capabilities). So whether you're planning a casual night out, a professional get-together, or a private event (i.e. rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, company functions, speaker events), we've got the right space and a menu custom-fit for you. We also cater group luncheons and special dinners too, so let us know how we can best serve you.

FAQ

What Kind of Food Do You Serve?

We specialize in Modern American Comfort Food, meaning innovative updates of local Southern favorites, using only fresh, honest ingredients. See Menu. (link to) Everything is made in-house (when possible) using local, humanely-raised meat and seasonal produce (when available). Nothing is pre-heated, pre-held, or pre-cooked, and everything is cooked to order, so if you have any specific requests or dietary requirements, we are more than happy to accommodate you. Just call in advance if you have any special requests.

Do You Have Sushi?

Yes, we do. We feature a full-service Sushi Bar with a wide range of modern and traditional selections (from raw, cooked, vegetarian, gluten-free, and everything in between). See Menu (link to).

Do You Have a Kids Menu?

Yes, we do. Although it isn't listed on our regular dinner menu, we offer several value-priced, kid-friendly items (i.e. Chicken Tenders w/ Fries, Plain Cheese Pizza, Grilled Cheese w/ Fries, Plain Pasta Alfredo, etc.). Ask your server for details.

Are There Vegetarian, Vegan or Gluten-Free Dishes?

Yes. Everything is cooked to order, so we can prepare most of our dishes without certain ingredients. Please call ahead for special requests and inform your server of any food allergies. We are here to accommodate you.

At What Time Does Your Kitchen Close?

Our kitchen stops serving lunch at 2:00 pm on Thursday - Sunday (in order to set up for dinner service). We re-open for dinner at 4:30 pm and the kitchen stays open until 9 pm Tuesday - Saturday. The bar stays open "til late" or until everyone has quenched their thirst.  Beginning Sunday September 12, we will only be open for Brunch from 11:00 - 4:00, but will close for Sunday evening dinner.  Also, beginning September 13, 2021 we will reopen on Monday evenings at 4:30 for dinner service.  

What Credit Cards Do You Accept?

Mastercard, Visa, American Express. Sorry, no Discover and no personal checks.

Do You Have a Dress Code?

Not really. We are a local eatery and watering hole, and as such, friends, family and neighbors are all welcome. We do ask that you come in with shirt, shoes, and pants.  

What Is the Average Price for Lunch and Dinner?

We offer a wide selection of Apps, Soup, Salads, Pizza, Sandwiches, Wraps, Entrees & Sushi for Lunch. Prices range from $6 and up.

For dinner, we offer even more of the above, along with Fresh Catch Specials, Steaks, Chicken, BBQ, more Seafood, and Desserts. Prices range from $6 to $32 for the Filet Mignon.

Do You Serve Brunch?

Yes, we do. Only on Sundays from 11 am - 4:00 pm. We offer Apps, Soup, Salads, Pizza & Sushi, as well as Eggs Benedict, Omelettes, French Toast, Steak N Eggs, etc. and a few Lunch Entrees.

HOW DO YOU GET TO LOTUS?

You can get directions with Google Maps, Mapquest or your GPS, but. . .
the easiest way to get here is to take I-85.
From North of Gastonia (Belmont, Mt. Holly, Charlotte, etc.)
Take I-85 South.
Take Exit 22. (Cramerton/Lowell)
Left at the top of the off-ramp.
(this is the only turn you need to make)
Stay straight.
At the 4th intersection, you will see a Publix & McDonald's on the left.
We are right beside Publix.
From South of Gastonia (Shelby, Kings Mtn., South Carolina, etc.)
Take I-85 North.
Take Exit 21. (Cox Rd.)
Right at the top of the off-ramp.
(this is the only turn you need to make)
Stay straight.
At the 5th major intersection, you will see a Publix & McDonald's on the left.

We are right beside Publix.

If you are coming from Lake Wylie, stick to your GPS.

Do I Need to Make Reservations?

Only groups of 5-6 or more should call ahead for a reservation. For groups of 1-4, we have a lot of 4-tops available with overflow seating on the balcony upstairs, so we can seat you as soon as you walk in. If you are coming out for a special occasion or have any special requests, please give us a call.

Who Do I Speak to if I Want to Bring in a Large Group or Party? Do You Have Special Menus for Large Groups?

Please call 704-853-1698 and ask to speak with Pat Huffstetler (General Manager) or Alan Fulghum (Owner).  We do offer special menus (Prix Fixe i.e. pre-selected items at a fixed price for groups of 15-35 or Banquet Menus i.e. gourmet buffet at a fixed price for groups of 40 or more). Our group menus feature popular items at the best price points, but we are more than happy to work with you in designing a custom menu to best suit your guests, budget, and occasion. Just give us a call.

Do You Have a Private Room Available?

Yes, we do. We have a Private Lounge upstairs with a fully-stocked bar, 55" Flatscreen TV & Full professional audio/video suite. There is a food & beverage minimum to use the lounge and a room deposit to secure your reservation, but there is no room rental fee. For reservations, please call 704-853-1698 and ask to speak with Pat Huffstetler (General Manager) or Alan Fulghum (Owner) or leave a message.  

We also have an Upstairs Balcony that can be partitioned off with Sound-Dampening, Heavy Theater Curtains. The public does not access to or pass by the space, and it is completely separate and private from the Lounge. Do You Have Take-Out?

Yes. Everything on our regular Lunch, Dinner and Sushi menus are available for take-out. Please call 704-853-1698 to place an order.

Do You Deliver?

We don't deliver individual take-out orders at this time.

Do You Have Gift Cards?

Yes, at any denomination! Please drop by during business hours to pick some up.

How Long Have You Been Open?

Lotus Bar & Eatery first opened its doors in July of 2006. As of March 2021, Lotus is operating under new ownership and management.
